Christmas Eve eve
Packing my bags and getting ready to head away for a week or so. Christmas in Louisiana!
Sure is snowing here-- which is awfully nice when you don't have to get out in it, but when one must, well... gets less pleasant if you don't have on the proper hat and shoes, so I've found.
Honestly, though, I think (even though I won't technically be here,) this is my very first white Christmas. Something beautiful to remember. And then in March when it's still snowing and white all over, maybe fond Christmas-time memories will cheer me through til spring.
Merry merry Christmas.

Baby, It's Cold
It is so frosty-white outside, I can hardly stand it. Really. It's like 6 degrees out there!
But the good news is that while being encouraged to stay inside I also have the opportunity to get back to some good indoor work, i.e., painting!
I was actually reminded of some friends in Nashville who hailed from South Dakota. They wound up buying a place in Pittsburg, primarily because of the relative cost of living to set up a home and studio, but secondly because it was colder there. I didn't understand, but Valerie explained that the cold helped her focus on making art. Warm pleasant weather, apparently, is a great distraction.
Here's to a winter full of focus.
